Grumdon – 653k HP

Mechanics

  • Pulverize
3s cast, interruptable. Frontal cone AoE.
  • Infernal Breath
    3s channel. Frontal cone AoE.
  • Drums of Doom
9s Channel. AoE centering around Grumdon.

Strategy

For the most part, you can nuke this guy down. If you can’t interrupt Pulverize then step out of it. Step out of Infernal Breath too. When he channels Drums of Doom just run back outside of the AoE.

Thrawn – 653k HP

Mechanics

  • Thunder Clap
    Instant attack – Knocks back.
  • Call of Fire
3s cast. Places an AoE randomly.
  • Giant’s Rage
10.4s Channel, AoE bubble around himself.
  • Intimidating Roar
2s Cast, interruptable. Fears you for 5s, can use Break Free to cleanse yourself.
  • Cave In “Broken shards of ice are falling from above! Only a Pelagic Cleric’s Salvation can save you.”
Thrawn does not do this, you will start taking damage, run to a NPC shield to avoid damage.

Strategy

Watch where he places Call of Fire, an AoE will spawn randomly in the area, you should make sure that it’s not behind you so when he knocks you back with Thunder Clap you don’t get knocked back into the AoE. At 50% Thrawn will channel Giant’s Rage, just run out of the AoE. If you can, you should interrupt Intimidating Roar, if you can’t, you can use Break Free to cleanse the fear. If you see the message shown in the mechanics, find an NPC with their shield up and run in it, it deals between 7-8k damage every second. The NPC shield will only shield you against Cave In, but it does heal you also.

Frenzied Icebug (Rare)

The Frenzied Icebug is the rare mob found in Shadow from the Beyond. Frenzied Icebug can be found at location 3879, 2875. No special attacks, but it does deal high damage, it’s best to dps it down as fast as you can.  Upon killing the rare, a chest will spawn nearby with some Void Stone and Platinum.

Urulynn – 653k HP

Mechanics

  • Fire Bolt
    Primary attack, interruptable.
  • Flame Lance
3s Channel, just soak the damage.
  • Buff: Links of the Nether
4 buffs, Urulynn does more damage and takes less damage.
  • Oculons – 217k HP
Buffs Urulynn with Links of the Nether.

Strategy

Extremely simple fight, just nuke him down. When he get Links of the Nether buffs, kill all 4 Oculons, each Oculon will leave a green AoE on the ground upon death that will heal you. Once they’re all down, just burn Urulynn down.

Samekh – 1.3M HP

Mechanics

  • Razor Wing
Instant cast, hits on impact and leaves a 10s debuff deals damage over time.
  • Call of the Seraph
Summons 5 ghost clones that all hit you once at the same time (attack is calledSeraph Divebomb). Low damage.
  • Tears “Tears open up, radiating cosmic energy. Stand near one to benefit from the power.”
Message on screen, several tears open up randomly, standing in them will heal you.
  • Cosmic Apocalypse “Samekh is calling forth energy from beyond the stars. Hide from her or meet oblivion!”
5s cast, 6s channel. You need to hide behind one of the icebergs before the cast has finished. Hits extremely hard, hide until the channel has stopped.
  • Awaken Oculon “Awaken my children and punish this Ascended!”
2 Oculons become active and shoot a laser around the area. Avoid the laser, deals heavy damage.

Strategy

This is a fun fight, you will need to make sure you bring a spec that is mobile and has some good self-healing. If you’re using a melee spec, you will need to pull with a ranged attack. A lot of the attacks you can’t do anything about, Razor Wing hits harder than her normal attack, and will deal 1k damage per tick. There isn’t much to worry about except for Cosmic Apocalypse, and the Oculon lasers which hit for around 20k damage per second you’re in the laser, they seem to on a random path and do not chase you. If you are getting low on health, try to get into a tear that heals you every time one is up.
